Okay, let me get this straight. (I've just been pronouncing it like "met". That's really the American pronunciation for that spelling) So, in addition to "met" I need to add a "the" sound without the h. Hmmm. So is it like "met-uh"? I've been pronouncing it wrong the whole time and I can't rest until it's right!mette wrote:Well... how to explain it? The first part (Met) you pronounce like "met" as in "We met yesterday". The second part (te) you pronounce like... try saying "the" without the "h", but keep the vocal sound. The preassure should be on the "Met" part.

Hey Lutzylugs and Lilo, Nessie is my sister.
She's the good looking one of the family.
Anyone reading this please take note, I live in an ordinary wee house. Those two are just fooling around so don't believe anything they say.
So Lutz, you lived in Scotland too? Been around a bit haven't you?
Are you a young, middle aged or lived a long time gentleman????
I'll find out soon enough won't I?

I didn't live there, just spent some holidays in Scotland.
I would describe myself as middle aged, but this depends from where you're looking

In Denmark "Mette" is an extremely common name, I'm not used to my name being thought of as exotic - it's a nice change though

not ONLY do I think your name is exotic, I think of Denmark as a far off far away land .... ya kinda like a fairy tale

I'll bet you've never though of yourself like that
OBTW: I won't even attempt to pronounce your hubby's name
