Important: Update your WA Editor files before 2009!
Hello Everybody,
If you are a current WA Editor user, please ensure that you update your Editor.exe and wg.exe files before the end of 2008 with the latest versions contained in the zip below:
http://www.midnightsynergy.com/adventur ... to096b.zip
There are no feature changes, but the current set of files is due to expire at the end of the year.
If you downloaded the entire WA Editor Installer on or after December 8th, 2008, you do not need to apply this patch. You already have the latest version.
Cheers!

1. Go into the directory you installed it in and go to the player.exe. The patch doesn't replace the editor and player .exe's in the place you use them, e.g. start menu, desktop... If it still won't work, read ahead.
2. Zip up the custom content folder and all the adventures you want to keep so you don't loose them, uninstall the editor, reinstall it, and override the new custom content folder with the old, and put the adventures back in place. Thats what I did when something went wrong with mine. Make sure when you reinstall it that you have the new set-up for it and not the 2008 set-up.

Jdl, I got a problem with a texture, remember? I think their problem is the same.jdl wrote:1. Go into the directory you installed it in and go to the player.exe. If you have other versions of the editor in separate folders (like me I never knew the meaning of it was sooo deep!), you should be able to find a "mpbe.wdf" (load.jpg). Copy it to the editor folder with the latest update, and there, it works!
You really need to read those black and white screens carefully.

Will the same thing happen by the end of this year?
I just figured out how to get the WA editor v0.96 to work again
(just for people like me who forgot to update in time )
1. Make a backup of any adventures etc. you want to keep. For some reason all my folders were empty, but everything except adventures you have been working on yourself but never posted is at my web site, so don't panic if this is also the case for you.
2. Uninstall and remove everything from the old installation.
3. Download and install the editor as described in this post:
http://www.pcpuzzle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14407
4. Your WA editor v0.96 should now work . Put everything you backed up (or downloaded from my site) in the appropiate folders and you should be good to go
Best,
Mette

This topic was last posted in over three years ago. I've seen you bump other old threads as well - please don't do that.
If you're having trouble with crashes, it's likely something on your end to do with custom content. There are too many variables here, there's probably not much anyone can do to help, sorry.
