Sonic Boom - TV Show/Tie-in Wii U/3DS game announced

TV Show trailer - Show format is 11-minute episodes, aimed for younger children (6-11). Writing-wise it seems a bit like Sonic Colours and Sonic Lost World.

Wii U game trailer - Running on CryEngine 3, developers are formerly from Naughty Dog (responsible for the Crash Bandicoot series, and I think they had something to do with Sly Cooper as well).

There's... not much else to comment on about it at the moment. Discuss or something, I dunno.

Oh, also: This is not a reboot of the whole franchise. This is sort of a sub-franchise thing. The character designs aren't (as far as we know) carrying over to the main series.

It hasn't started airing yet, so I'm assuming you mean following the series.

And no, there's no real reason for it other than "character redesign"

This new series reminds me of those nostalgic nintendo based TV series I don't really enjoy. There was the Mario Bros Supershow, then a Zelda TV series where Link talks, and of course why would I forget the Donkey Kong Country one? BANANA SLAMMA.

So I don't know about how this next video game based TV series could come out. That weirdness was all from the past so this could be okay. You may never know.
