I'll drop this here 'cause I figure people will be more likely to see it - As a warning/FYI, Glasses on NPC's still act kind of funny. The "upside" (if you can call it that) is that if it tries looking for a texture that doesn't exist, the Editor itself will let you know by going through the "Couldn't find texture" routine.
I recommend saving before fiddling with NPCs, just to be safe.

Hooray!
I've been playing around with this a little and I've noticed a few things that have changed other than the obvious. For example, clicking south of the level does not seem to result in a MAV anymore, which is really nice.
One glitch I noticed though, was that in the Player, when playing custom adventures, you will always have gloves, a glowgem, and a spy-eye.
Other than that, everything is wonderful!

I don't think it was in the old version, but I'm pretty sure that was the case in the hacked MoFI and PotZ Editors.Midnight Synergy wrote:Yes, custom adventures always gave you basic equipment (wasn't that in the old version already)?

Flash magic shooters don't work. In the editor, the magic says "not used yet" or something like that, and in the player, they shoot indigo spellballs that don't do anything.
Then again, I know a Flash shooter could lead to bugs and program errors, but... I trust that if a designer wants to use one, they'll take care to be extra careful, right?

I agree. Even if we do use the 3.0 for only new adventures, finding magic gloves can be an objective, and there are cases where you might want the limitation of the lamp, or a darkish ambience that's dark enough to turn the glow gem on. Spy-eyes could also occasionally be game breaking.Emerald141 wrote:Can't this be a feature the designer can choose to enable or not? There are a few adventures out there in which finding Magic Gloves is one of the puzzle objectives, and I'd hate to see these ruined.Midnight Synergy wrote:Yes, custom adventures always gave you basic equipment (wasn't that in the old version already)?

So I've been staying away from PcPuzzle for a while, but I decided to return for the inevitable new adventures.
I might get around to actually using this too... maybe. If I feel like it.
EDIT: I agree with other people that starting with the necessities should be optional. Not having a Spy-Eye hasn't really served as anything but an annoyance, but I remember back in the day we used to do clever things with lack of lamps and gloves, on occasion.

Thanks for the editor, MS!

All Wonderland games are built against 32bit Windows systems. There is a very, very little cost on performance when running 32bit applications on 64bit processors, but it's too little to mention. Most likely you have other factors causing the lag (e.g disk I/O).Blazeknight wrote:Thank you MS, this is a revolution...
By the way, MS, was it built on 32bit OS? Bcos all WA games work fluently on 32bit than 64bit (hangs a bit)... Has anyone noticed that?
I have lots of questions as although I don't have a laptop now, I'm way too excited and curious
