I Wanna Be The Guy: hilariously hard game
The second screen.
There's only one path out of the first screen, so what do you mean?

The very first screen is the one where, if you go down, white bars appear blocking your path up and you get killed by spikes. If you go up, it leads to the second screen. The second screen, is where you first meet the falling apples. The third, is where you go cloud hopping. In the cloud hopping room, you can go two ways, up and left.
Falling apples and cloud hopping... not much advice can be given, sorry!
As for paths, there's a way to go in every direction from the first screen...
To go down, just jump far enough past the last spike-wall and it won't trigger.
To go left, go where the second spikewall is, and when it JUST starts going away, doublejump back up to trigger the first spikewall, then fall down and wait until the spikewall goes there. Then doublejump back up, and walk through the wall.
To go up, well you know already.
To go right... actually I have no idea how to do that and it only allows you to skip a small bit of the upper path and you eventually need to return anyway, so going to the right is pretty much useless. The fake wall is behind the third spikewall...

Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

Where do you learn all this?
Oh I see. I never learned about going up, because when I tried, I didn't know how to double-jump, and for going left, didn't notice that sneaky wall.
I'm talking about going down. That's where I'm stuck. I've found the secret, but it's still so difficult.

jdl, you must SHOOT (!) the spike that moves, and it will fall down, making a platform for you to stand on. Then you have to conquer a huge annoying sequence of appearing and disappearing blocks. It's all memorisation, really.
P.S. When you get to the screen with a starry background, run through or you'll cry.

I still haven't mastered those appearing and disappearing platforms. Oh, they are so annoying. When you don't step on them, they don't show you the right pattern.

I was just sitting there playing and thought "A starry background... Cool!" and then I heard the music and thought... "Ok... What is going on??? Wait, it couldn't be... Could it?" Then after I thought that, he fell right on me!!! I was like "WHAT THE?!?!???!!!" How random can this game get anymore???

Ok, I'm getting a bit nervous.
Muzo, can you assure me that no scary faces pop up? Embarrassing, but I'm so paranoid about it, thanks to some other stupid game that I played ages ago.

I've gottten up to Mecha Birdo on the upper path, the wheeled spikes on left path, and Bowser/Wart/Wily on bottom path and seen them personally.
If you're THAT paranoid, you can always find a "Let's Play" on Youtube and see the whole game for yourself.
Except the traps are so sudden, some might just take the role of the scary face. Like the HUGE moon which DROPS on you.

I mean, places where, if you don't do it exactly right, a scary face suddenly pops up. An actual face which is scary, and which you hardly expect to see. The moon is just the moon, not an actual face, isn't it?

Yay!
Well, I've got past the block sequence, through that space room (got crushed the first time who is that character? I don't usually play with volume on, because it's so loud), and down into an interesting place. Sure enough, it looked perfectly safe, but you know what that means.

Stand somewhat closer, and SHOOT THE HECK out of the bullet bill.
If your game lags you can't do that, so you MAY have to dodge instead. Jump into the spike pit at the left and try to dobulejump out past the bullet bill. It's hard but possible.

Bowser... hmm.
How did you know that was Bowser?! Is it just general knowledge that I haven't learned, or is it game-specific knowledge?
Jdl, well assuming that that flying egg-dragon is Bowser, that's where I'm at. But the effort leading up to here... oh god.

Super Mario Bros is general knowledge.
To kill Bowser, try to shoot the bomb so that it explodes the underside of the vehicle. (not in the face)
Wart... self-explanatory.
Now Dr. Wily, THAT'S hard. It's in the same three-part boss.

OMG, not more Mario.
I never heard the name "Mario" until I joined this forum, I think. So that's not general knowledge for me. Is it just me, or is it to do with New Zealand? Oh New Zealand...

In the screen right before yellow lasers, there's another path.
When you're on the brick at the bottom right, it opens up a small hole. Fall down and navigate an insane freefalling course. You're then in the Metroid area, and OH GOD!
