386LIZM - Pirate Quest 30 Riding the Rolling Reef
AT LAST I'M BACK!
My internet connection has been cut for 3 days, plus my holiday makes rather a long break. Sorry folks.
I see you've all been very busy in my absence. Don't know how I'll ever catch up with all these new levels.
This one is pretty easy except for the opening move which is all about timing, and may not be the timing you think!
Using Popo's models in the model pack PQ21M used many times already.
Also using Obehave's lovely texture "Forbidden" also used many times.
Thanks very much girls!

Oh yea!! I've been having pirate withdrawals. So glad to have you back Liz. Hope you had a great holiday. I think someone did mention you were having PC troubles. Happy to have you back again. I'm off to see what all the fuss is about.
Wow, that opening move is a doozie. Happy to report I did make it across but then I didn't have the slightest idea what to do. If you time it right you can stop that 1st travelator going left to right and like Liz says its all about timing.

Hey Liz,
Glad to have you back. You've been missed!
This is really a fun level. I can't kill that very top boulder that's on the travelator. Will you please send me a hint?
[Edit] Never mind

I got it! Thanks for all of your PQ levels!

Ok, I got all the rainbow coins and killed all stones but two. But I'm not lining them up right I guess because there's no way for my to hit the big bang. Must rethink strategy.
Ingenious! Just love that opening. Didn't realize what the key was to making it across until I'd done it 50 times like everyone else. Then I noticed a pattern. Ah ha! Now the crossing is easy. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

That's been a stormy sea
Loof-Lad made it through after he fell into the water at least a dozen times.
Took him a few tries more to collect all the sunken treasures.
Fun level, Liz

Liz, Liz, Liz
What can I say, great level. Looflad has gone to rest. I found out the rolling reef crossing was the easy part. Collecting the treasure proved to be my downfall. Great aim and timing was needed for the rolling rocks. I kept blocking Looflad in his quest to collect his loot, he found himself trapped a few times with no way out.
Had to turn down my speakers, that rock rolling was maddening. I enjoyed this one also. Thank you for the level.

I'm glad you are back and hope you had a nice vacation! I tried one way and that didn't seem to work, so tried something else. It worked. Collected all the treasure and got run over on the way out. Made it the next time. Thanks for all the fun, Liz!

Lizzie! WELCOME BACK! Hope your vacation was nice!
This is such an awesome level. I fear I am going to need help with the opening--- but I'm going to try another few hundred times before I hold up my flag.
Now... were you really on vacation or have you been channeling Mark???????

Help with the opening move if anyone needs it:
Watch the first rolling boulder. When it's exactly level with the coin above it, move upwards. Both travellators stop. Push the boulder right into the water. Ride left and right to end up where you first stopped.
Now when all the other boulders have crossed above you, move up immediately and you get past them all.
You don't need good timing for getting rid of the other boulders - just sink them all!
If you need more help, let me know.

Huh. Not what I did (go figure). I:
I saw that if I moved up into a coin just as the rolling boulder was coming at me, it would stop next to me. But if I moved up into an area without a coin, the boulder would bowl me over.
So, I stopped a rolling boulder next to me, then pushed it up to it crunched the one rolling above it. so that the transporter would land in a way that I could get "under" the next coin up. Kept doing that over and over all the way up. I either would have to ride up a square to stop the boulder, or if it was already stopped just use it as a bullet to shoot the next one in line.
But your way sounds much less dangerous.

Trust me to make it harder than it need be.

I was trying to do it Loopy's way but couldn't quite get it synchronised.

Excellent rolling fun hon - always a pleasure to play a Lizzie level!

What a convoluted mess I made of this one! (see screen shot)
After finally completing this I came here and saw your hint for the boulders and realized I had to have done it all wrong!
Still it worked, go figure, so thanks Lizzie!

To me, this was the toughest PQ yet. Took me
ages to figure it out, and that was after I read your hint, Lizzie!
Great fun as always, and I'm sure glad you're back. I was going into PQ withdrawal.

The beginning was hard but I did it different than Liz did it. I managed to stop the first travelator when it was coming from the right to the left, the boulder was still on it so I got behind it and when the other travelator was coming back left I sunk that boulder which stopped another 2 with the boulder still on one. Sunk that one then made my way up and did away with the rest with the extra boulders sitting around. I think we all needed to find our own way on this one.

Welcome back Liz,
I must have been real lucky 'cause I stumbled on the trick to stopping the rollers right away.
Another nifty puzzle, Pams texture "makes" the island very islandy.
Thanks,
jg
