There is a fair maiden in Wonderland . . .
clever, witty and fun . . .
Cranking out levels with lightning speed . . .
how does she do it, indeed . . .
What does she do when she leaves this land . . .
I can't seem to find a clue . . .
She must have a life in the outer world . . .
or maybe she just musn't . . .
Just wondering . . .

Well Pat,
Since you wrote such a COOL poem.....I'll tell you the truth since no one is listening. I used to be a normal person like you, until one day when I was playing RTW for about 4 hours straight......I caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye. I flipped my head around to look out the window, I figured someone was there. To my amazement----all I could see was a bright light.....then it faded, and all I could see were pretty bushes and mushrooms, and the strangest group of creatures I've ever seen. I tried opening the door to leave, but this HUGE black bomb started walking RIGHT AT ME!!!!
I shut the door, and he turned and left. I know he's just waiting for me to open the door------I'm trapped here, making levels.....they won't let me leave....I think their are more of us here.......I can feel their presence......maybe if I can make enough good levels, they will someday let me go home..................at least they give me all the mushrooms I can eat!!!

Hi eeyore31,
I played both versions of this level and they were both very good!
In the adult version, I had a hard time with those zbots until I discovered the trick,
. Very nice! I loved Patricks house! Think he's a leprechan?
The children's version I think will be a challenge for younger children, but very do-able for them. I think it will help them with their problem solving skills.
Both are done well as your levels usually are.

Hi SharonM !!!!
Yes, I was a little concerned with that one. Pretty big for little ones......the 'mommies' might want to change the boulders part. Glad you liked it!!!
As for Patrick ----- I don't think we'll ever know his exact species

Rats to those Z-bots! Glad you posted the easier, uh, "kiddies" version. SharonM mentions a trick to get past the Bots, so I guess I'd better take another look.
I'm sure my granddaughter will love this one. She's 7, and judging from some of the official levels she has completed, the kids version probably will not be too tough for her. She and her 10-yr-old brother are very competitive in Wonderland. As soon as one dies it's the other's turn, so this probably makes her concentrate all the harder!

Snap Carolyn!
Maybe your husband is like mine, A BIG KID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God only knows how I would have coped with a small kid as well. haha.
I can't talk, a few years ago when John got his computer I had no interest at all. One day he encouraged me to "have a go" and boy did he regret it.
We were like a couple of kids fighting over it, I would get half an hour and he would stay on for two hours.
I was in a computer store with him and spied a machine on special offer, yep, you guessed, I told him where he could stick his!
Ridiculous carry on at our age, teehee.

cheers
Maureen.
Yeah, you know what I meant by "die", right? The kid doesn't literally have to die (tho from the whining and complaining that sometimes occurs, you'd think that was the case!), it's just Stinky that has to go stars or you get stuck and can't finish the puzzle.
Actually, it's not having to share the computer that keeps me from my Wonderland pursuits, it's that irritating "real life" thing that gets in the way! And the grandkids are only here every other weekend, so sharing with them is not really a big deal.
Ha, ha, if anyone around here read that thing above about "real life", they would probably laugh heartily -- and point out how much time I actually spend on other computer games, too. It's always some game, it seems, and some are very time-consuming. Do you guys play other games, or are you Wonderland purists?

I have other games that I USED to play; since RTW & the Editior have arrvived on my computer, those "other" games are getting very lonely! But, actually, "real life" DOES get in the way of my Wonderland time. THEN AGAIN - WHICH one is REALLY real??? Maybe Wonderland is real life & we just escape it once in a while into that "other" world!! My oldest son came to visit Saturday - I was in the computer room in the middle of Wonderland, and I could hear him ask his dad, "Where's Mom?" --- My husband's response: "She's in Wonderland world again." Guess that says it all.

other games?
Hi...what do you mean other games? There are other games besides Wonderland?
Real life, kids, grandkids,WORK, these things do tend to interrupt game time, don't they?
I hesitate to mention other games,
but since you asked.......(My apologies to Patrick
)
Happyland Adventures. A side scrolling, jump-n-run game. Also comes with a level editor. Free. Find it at:
http://www.freelunchdesign.com Click on free games.
Beetle Ju. Digger style/arcade/puzzle. Find at:
http://www.bigfishgames.com
Some of you may have bought Wonderland at this site.
These are just two of many games I enjoy. (But they pale in comparison to Wonderland and RTW!!!!!)

Yes, I do play other games not as much as RTW of course.
I enjoy rpg's, something to get my teeth into ( all my own may I say! )I hate shootem ups, too violent for my liking.
I have just downloaded one of your games Janet, let you know how I get on.
What's this thing we all have about AGE??????????

I am going to give mine away, keep this a secret tee hee.
I will be 54 in May. There now I've been and gone and done it!!!!!!!!!
Define M.A.D. now.

Oh, who cares about chronological age? I'm 51, never have cared about telling my age -- after all, we all get one year older each year, or we get dead! I like the one-year-older option.
I know I really don't fit into the profile for either age or sex for these games, but tend to spend a lot of time playing games like Splinter Cell, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Thief, Half-Life, No One Lives Forever, Hitman, etc, etc. I don't like games that are strictly shooters, but rather the action/adventure games.
Also play a lot of adventure games like Syberia, Riddle of the Sphinx, Omega Stone, Monkey Island, Myst, and on and on.
I download lots of word games and many other cute little games. I have BeetleJu, but have never gotten very far with it. I try and try, though. Really like that claymation game Platypus, too. And Red Ace.
Never have had a game capture my heart like Wonderland, though!

Yes Dianna,
I never cared about keeping my age a secret either, in fact, I used to enjoy telling it and hear people gasp and say "you don't look it" That never happens now, oh well!
I have played a few of the games you mentioned, as you say nothing has hit quite like Wonderland. I think a lot of it has to do with the forum and the levels you all put in, it just keeps the game so fresh and new.
I downloaded Janet's Happy Adventure but all I get is a black screen!
Must go and do some other little game called "feeding the husband" not as much fun as RTW but it keeps him happy!

Davimad: I just downloaded Happyland to my sons computer (Mom, don't put that game on my "machine"!) Installed and played fine. Sorry, I don't know what to tell you that would help. Anyone else try it?
I had better go uninstall the program from his "machine" now.
jg (age 46)
ps: Two quotes about age.
1. If you laugh alot when you get older....your wrinkles will be in the right places. author/unknown
2. Growing old is mandatory.....growing up...is not!!! author/unknown

OH! ---- Happyland Adventures!!!! I FORGOT about that one - I was TOTALLY hooked on Happyland for a while - back before Wonderland of course. The graphics aren't even close to Wonderland, but there's just something about it. Nice little adventure that is challenge sometimes, just fun others. Anyway, you guys just reminded me of that game. NO comparison to Wonderland tho, OF COURSE!

Wonderland is the only game I have been playing lately.
The only others games I really can "get involved in" are for Super Nintendo----Lufia 1 and 2, Dragon Warrior series, Breath of Fire.........
I like the RPG----no quick reactions
I have other games on the computer but they don't make a good hangnail on Wonderlands' big toe!!!
Age: 45 1/2, getting younger every day!

I play card games, puzzles, rpgs mainly. Sometimes word games. Wonderland is unique, though in that I have contact with other Wonderlanders and the custom levels keep the game fresh. I'm not concerned with my age either, 45. I'm still a kid!
Just hate to journey back to the other reality where work exists,
.

Sam,
I like card games and puzzles too, we all seem to have so much in common.
You never did tell me where in Scotland your father came from.
I read somewhere about having a Wonderland convention, I could get away with dressing up as Loof, I'm only 5' 1". haha
Oh dear, me that's scared of flying! 9 hours on a plane, that would have to be true love for Stinky & Loof!
Janet could you tell me the display configuration for Happy Adventures?
Talk to you all sooooooooon.

Hi M.A.D.,
I don't know yet where his family came from. I'm still working on tracing the family trees,
. I just know they are from somewhere in Scotland. I'm also working on my husband's and I may have more help there. I'll let you know when I find out more. It's slow going though.
It is amazing how much we all have in common. I'm a solitaire fan. I collect the games. There's at least 500 different recognised versions. I'm not sure how many are out there, because many have multiple names. I like other card games as well, but the solitaire games (including the freecell variations) are by far my favorites. Guess I'm a "solitary" cuss!

Hi Sam,
I'm a solitaire nut as well, I did have hundreds on my machine before it went skeewiff.
If you need any help with your search let me know, at least I am a bit nearer to Scotland than you and can use some contacts over there.
Whenever you are ready I will give you my e mail address, it gives you a bit of privacy at least.
Must head off to bed now and dream Wonderland.

M.AD.
Hi M.A.D.,
Thank you. I may take you up on that. I've had to put my search on hold for a while though, just not enough time.
When I get back on it later this year I'll let you know. The problem is knowing where to look in a lot of cases. I have a relative that may be able to give me some leads, but have been having trouble reaching,
. Isn't that always the case? I wonder how far back I have to go to reach my Wonderland roots

Thank you. I may take you up on that. I've had to put my search on hold for a while though, just not enough time.

Ok......thanks a lot janetgalle, now I'm stuck in Happyland. If you have time to e-mail me at eeyoreATyellowbananasDOTcom so I can ask a couple things about it, it would be helpful. I must finish it so I can concentrate once again on Wonderland!

Display configurations? You may as wll ask me how to complete "Lightning Strikes"!
I know I remember reading in the troubleshooting part of Happyland that some of the FreeLunch games are not compatible with some video cards because of their low resolution. Are all your DirectX drivers up to date? I run DirectX 9.0b. I am not too well versed in the technical stuff of computers, I just like to play!!!!! It looks like eeyore31 got it to download, maybe she would be able to answer your techno type questions.

WOW....I would love to help but if I download something, and it doesn't work right....I am lost!!! I hear about direct X and vidio cards and such---I don't have a clue what they do or what to do when they don't work. Any computer geeks here that can help????? (By the way...geek is a nice thing)
Happyland IS a great game!!! That would be a good idea for Stinky and Loof in Wonderland 3----go around and save other Wonderlanders instead of coins to go to next level!!!
