don't zip your adventure

Post by Erwin042 »

Is there any reason why you have to zip your adventure again?

Some use the *.wa2-extension, others sill zip the files.

I assume that zipping isn't necessary anymore.
You have to compile the adventure before uploading it.

Or...?

That's correct, Erwin. People should not be zipping their adventures anymore - it just makes it a hassle to download. Just upload the compiled wa2 file instead.

i dont really want to dis agree with MS but it is sometimes still nessesary to zip your adventures
why? the reason is the memory space the adventure takes up
if it is over 800kg the site will not let you put the file on
if you zip a file with 800kg is reduces the memory leaving it at 100kg
until the site allows unlimited kg we will still need to zip some adventures

Ah, yes, I see now - I guess I'm used to doing smaller adventures. :) I suppose for >800kb files you'll still need to zip then.

Okay!

But there are still some level-makers who zip their small files.
