Burnt River Rising!

Post by pandybear » Wed Apr 09, 2008 6:41 pm

I am so grateful to everyone who has expressed their concern for us during the Burnt River flood testimonies I keep giving (yes, our river is called Burnt!). I am therefore attaching a link to my Facebook album entitled Burnt River Rising. I will be updating it each evening with new photos taken during the day and will post the new link here each night.

If you are interested, please enjoy the pictures! I have downloaded the ones from yesterday and will put more on later. I think you will have to cut and paste it into your browser.

Thank you all again for your concern. This is definitely more than a game community (oh no - I think I feel tears in the corner of my eyes!!!).

Hugs
Andy

Oh my gosh Andy!! Is the second one a picture of your B&B? Waters are too close for comfort!

We're having terrible floods here too. But, fortunately we live on a very tall hill, so it's only flooding around us. The worst that will happen, is we can't get to town.....and that's no big deal.

When do they say your waters will peak? :?

I told rescuefire that I was baking and cooking to get everything out of my 2 fridges and freezer, in case the electricity gets turned off if we have to evacuate! I'll need places to send all of this stuff to. Any takers? Want some Dizzy? You may be stuck for a while in your house!

I added an actual photo of what our home looks like in the summer. Hard to believe, isn't it? Some more shots taken this morning!

We have the possibility of 30 cm of rain over the next few days - only happy thoughts please:)

You are right Tyteen! I put this in the totally wrong place. So sorry! I will post in the Off Topic section from now on! I guess I had other things on my mind and was not doing the Wonderland Thinking that I should!

See you in the Off Topic section eventually!

You can post this any where you'd like Andy. The pictures are awesome. I'm sure the snow melting must be adding to the flooding. I hope it doesn't come up much more.

Be safe........

Thanks for adding more pictures today. You have my happy thoughts for you NOT getting any more rain and that the river stops rising. I bet you are exhausted after putting out 3 truck loads of sand bags. Do take care!

What the, looks dangerous to me. I certainly hope the waters stop rising soon. Take care.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.
