WA Stinker in the Dark

Sigh. . . I've watched the solution video and printed Erwin042's solution on Mette's site, but just cannot get that one stinker past the spiky balls in the lower left corner of the puzzle. I know what I'm supposed to do, but just can't seem to move him fast enough to keep him from dying. Any tips???

In the beginning of finding a solution for that level, I could easily get the stinker by the spikel. When I went by the spike, I died hunderds of times.

I confess that I finally used the cheat code, just so I could move on. Perhaps I'll try it another game. Thanks for trying to help!!
