O.k., here's a Dutch riddle

Marijke (a Dutch girl's name) is 25 years younger than her mother.
In 7 years her mother will be 5 times as old as Marijke.
Where is Marijke's father?

OK, I don't know if this is a good one but I can't think anything better right now.

There is an easy way to stay alive forever. What way?

Hint: It has something to do with my riddle about the twinbrothers. (And it has nothing to do with sex 8) )

No it has to do with logic, not magic.

1. Clone yourself when young and conserve for future use.
2. Order to "release" the clone when very old/dying.
3. Order the clone to do the same when HE in turn gets old.

The only problem with this solution is whether that "you" is still "you"...
Unless it's not that. Then I'm stumped. (for now)
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

You have to do it when you ever get old and repeat and repeat...lol

As I said it has something to do with the twinbrothers riddle. It is quite logical, but it's not really possible. It has nothing to do with clones either.

I doubt if this is a good one :? so I will give the solution soon.

A time machine, where you meet your younger self, and explain that he MUST go back in time at that very minute, otherwise a time paradox will happen and the unvierse goes POOF!

That's a very funny idea Muzo! :D :D :D

But I think it's better to tell. You only have to do 2 things, not more.

1. Always speaking truth from now on. Maybe not that easy but a small price for eternal life though? :D

2 And then just say:"I repeat this sentence tomorrow" 8)

No. You will simply be forced to retract that statement when you're dying. Otherwise you're a big liar.

As I said, I doubted if it was a good riddle for this thread. But I think it's sort of funny anyhow 8) And I couldn't find something better. Still not  8)

Well, am I allowed my turn?

By reading Marinus's posts about lightness you can do this one. It's about the same concept, but much less hard. Still doesn't mean, it's EASY though. Marinus, you will know immediately, so please don't guess.

What is the opposite of movement?
Before blurting out the obvious (and wrong) "stillness" though, try to think a little more.

Trust me, it is MUCH easier than it's cruel counterpart.
I can replace it if you want though...

What is the opposite of movement?
Is it too early for a hint? :)

Movement: The act or process of moving.

Opposite would be: The absence of the act or process of moving.

It starts with this post: http://pcpuzzle.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... &start=355

Your definition contains (part of) the same word. What's the definition of moving.

And there are also different definitions of "opposite". You need definition 5 8) also described a few posts later. :D

Marinus, well you already know it as you PMed me the answer, so...

Dizzy1: here's a generic hint about the concept:

First a confusing part, disregard if you just want to have it easy.

[confusing part]
ABSENCE is a property, therefore it can only be opposite to PRESENCE, which is also a property.
Stopping is the absence of movement, which means it's the opposite to presence of movement, but not of movement itself.
[/confusing part]

The real opposite of movement would be a something, that counteracts said movement.
Think about it.

Bummer, if even in the simplest form I could make this concept still drives people bonkers, I guess I'll have to say no about using it in an online riddle.
(I'm designing levels for a maze-like online riddle game, similar to Mazito. A wrong-but-plausible answer can often lead you to a dead-end with more levels but they won't get you further. )

You've just cracked me up with ease!
