Hiya,
Three levels in the new Mysteries of Fire Island are really bending my head. Blink River, Heart of the Jungle and The Ascent. Have managed to do everything else currently accessible and feel I need to complete at least one of these to be able to venture further on the island. Does anyone have any hints please? Thanks in advance.

I just have to say that I made Blink River and (most of) Heart of the Jungle.

Some hints:

I'm stuck on blink river as well....glad I'm not the only one. The nearest I can tell (and this may be totally wrong because I haven't managed to successfully try it yet) is that: you need to get the turtle(s?) to stop in the water in the correct place(s) so you can blink to a blue button using them as stepping stones. I actually got to the second blue button once but it didn't make the orange gate turn green so it was useless. Now, I think that I should have landed on the last (4th) blue button but I can't get the turtle(s) into position to get there. Disclaimer: This could be totally wrong, it's just what I'm trying right now. If you've figured it out or are trying a different method, let me know. Tks & good luck!

Hi mqdar,
Thanks for your assistance. My problem with Heart of the Jungle is

I put a scritter on the orange button to open the orange block... and no matter what I put across on the yellow button, I cannot seem to get it up to sit on the button to open the yellow gate. If I put both scritter and crab over there, then jump across myself, I get scritter on button, crab in water and a way to move the scritter from yellow to green... cept he just doesn't go the right way! If I put just the crab across to yellow, I still cannot chastise it enough to convince it to run up to the yellow button for me.

I am having the same problem as suninoz--I do not see how to get anything onto the yellow button and still leave myself a scritter that I can get onto the gren button.

Got it!!

fluffy dude on orange to open gate... line up crab in the 'gateway' then aim past him to in front of the bouncer and run at him. Scares him enough that he just keeps going and bounces up to the yellow button!

Now on to the next bit! Thanks so much for the hints and ideas.

ok, that didnt work for me......he still stopped after being bounced across.........sigh......

That's the right move for the crab. Eeyore, use your mouse and click past and right of the crab.

I found it wouldn't work with keyboard control, but it did with mouse - maybe because the mouse does diagonals better than my keyboard fingers do!

Position the crab and Stinky like this.
Then aim your pointer and click where it shows in the picture.

Hint: With the help of well placed grow and one spot where you need fast fingers, the turtle can ride the transporters to eventually reach the blue button. And if you plan carefully and place your grows wisely you can then get all the gems too.

yeah, old fashioned way, heated up the ol' waffle iron, and lots of butter and syrup.

Of course I ate too much, fell asleep, now I have to go back and face the second half of that level!!

Blue button is still giving me a headache.....I've been yelling at the poor turtle

stupid bridge and button.....I need a trampoline

Hey jg, how about a picture, cause I am totally lost. I got that turtle on the green button, then he fell in the water after he started to go across the green logs.

dylan,

After the turtle rides the transporter and walks across the green button, he will swim down and stop against the island. When you step on the button to raise the bridge, it should make him pop out of the water and continue down to the blue button.

You'll need 3 grow now:
(1)Place a Grow south (down) from the blue button to make the turtle turn screen-right. Look where he'll go back into the water after turning. Block him from going into the water with a Grow (2) above and (3)right of him. This will turn him to the south so he can make a bridge for you to get the gems.

Sorry, no picture yet. Maybe that description will help?

WOW, Thanks Loirae, I feel like such a dope. I didn't realize the turtle had to go across the transporters, I thought I did. Made a huge difference, only took me about 5 tries, but I finally got it. I really like this new game, but it is so much harder than the last games. But then again, I'm an adult. My 10 year old has been helping me with some things.

I got the star and my last stone key.

But I couldn't collect the gems.

I tried to direct the turtle to the transporters. But when he reached the green button, he turned and got into the water. I tried several times to pop a grow plant next to the transporter, but the turtle seemed to vanish through it.
So I used the transpoters to push the button and directed the turtle to the blue button.

What did I wrong? I know the turtle had to use the transporters. But I got a problem on that. So explain me what I could do to get those 8 gems too.

You have to make the turtle continue across the blue button to the other side, and walk around to get to the gems.

This is the trickiest part and will take practice. You have to grow the flower just as the turtle passes it and before the transporter stops. Too soon and the tutrtle prevents the flower from growing. Too late and the turtle is already on has way back before the spell is finished.

I think it took me about 15 tries before I got it and still when I replay it, I have to save my game there and try 2 or 3 times.

Just read your solution for the turtle part of this level. Thanks Loirae!!!

I managed to get the turtle going on the buttons. and even further for the gems. Cos therefore I write in a quote.

I've got some grow power left to direct the turtle further than the button and get him between the gem'island and the land.

ok.....as you can see, I'm not doing too well

I get the turtle turned around, use 1 grow to keep him out of water.......use 2 grows to turn transporters the right way.......make him go to transponders.....he hops on, gets on the next, gets on the next----but when he gets to the first button, he doesnt get off transponder, it just turns around and he jumps in water to the north and off he goes

help please

You need to blink behind the turtle quickly when he stops, before he turns.
