Demo of an upcoming game: Key Color
Demo of an upcoming game: Key Color
I've recently made a game demo "Key Color". In this game you need to collect all diamonds and get to the exit. However, there are four colors of locked doors and keys which create a maze. For now, there's only one level and a simple one at that. The graphics are all either taken from GM7's basic sprite pack or ripped from some picture, I will replace them eventually. The movement is a bit glitchy, because I'm using "Snap To Grid" which is easy, but sucks. There's no sound for now.

(I'm an idiot, the link to the new version is NOT the same folder!)

Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

New version: 0.2
Same level, but with unglitchy movement implemented. I also made the character move slower to allow better control.

When I make it. I've started it with a wrong approach (making true and false pathways at the same time) and I am pretty much stumped as to how could I finish it.
Or I could just scratch what I have for level 2 (since there isn't much) and just make another one?

I've finally had the heart to abandon the old level 2 and decided to make it from scratch.
Taking the same "grid" approach, I've built the true pathway, but with exception for the linear beginning (which only lulls you into the false sense of security) the false pathways have made themselves. I barely solved it, mostly by remembering different pieces of the solution, and it took me about half an hour, which given that I designed it, is a good sign that this level is hard enough as it is.
Download the two-level demo with a really awesome room transition (GM built-in) here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=d113 ... d6a1debe68
I think it will be like level 12 or something in the final game.

Isn't there a way (when there are more levels) to choose which level you want to play. I had to play 1 first then 2 and then it jumped back to 1.
Funny thing that the program to make that game is made by a Dutchman
Muzozavr's Key Color Game
This turned out to be a clever game.
