Area which you can only enter one way.

I discovered someting interesting in POTZ. There is an area on the northwestern of area of Qwertyx, which if i remember correctly, you can only access going north, but you skip past it when you go south. All i remember was that the area in question connected the area with the enterence to the ice palace and the western area where you find several adventures. Why does this happen?
