How many levels.....???????

Post by Shorty » Thu Aug 18, 2005 2:07 am

Hey yall.... I am curious,This is not to offend anyone just a serious question...

How many levels should we be allowed to submit in 1 day/1 week???

Is there A limit?? If not do YOU think there should be a limit???

I'm not downing anybody but there are so many wonderful level creators submitting levels daily/by daily and if someone(s) is to submit a ton of levels it makes it harder for us to play those by all creators......

~*Wonderlanders*~

Do you think we should have a limit as to how many levels we are allowed to post daily/weekly?????

I would like to hear all of your opinions and thoughts on this subject...

Lil ol' Shorty poohz opinion :

I myself feel that 2-4 levels daily and I'd say uhhmmm maybe like 10 levels a week give or take..... Maybe more ,special occassions tributes/birthdays etc. (This limit is per forum)

This was just a thought I had in my head and thought I would voice it!!!

Thank you all for taking the time to read this... now go on and post ya lil stinkers     :P :P :D :D :D :D

P.S

Once again I'd like to say... This is not to be taken personally as it is directed to no-one...Merely just a thought!!!

:D :D :D I don't think I could post that many in one day, I have a hard enough time making a level at all, I Post a level about every two or three days and in between I'm playing catch up on all the great levels. :D :D :D

Shoot, Kiki and Shorty. I'm lucky if I can do more than 1 a month.
I don't really have an opinion on this Kymmie. I just enjoy playing them, but I usually wind up downloading them via Mette's wonderful page. That way they are already sorted. As a result, I seldom comment on them, because I'm not sure which ones are old ones I'm still catching up on or new ones. If I recognize a name of one I've played recently, I comment on it. :)

Why should there be any limits? If you have a level to post, post it. If you have 10 levels to post, post them. If you're worried that posting too many at once will send all the others to the bottom of the pile, then zip 'em into one file. Then everyone is satisfied.

Ooo .. that's a tough question Shortcake ... I'm not sure there's an answer really, all I can say is this

Sometimes .....

a) I have loads of ideas in one go and churn out a few
b) I have no ideas and go for days without thinking up a level
c) I've been committed with work and there are loads of levels to catch up on and I'm thinking "Nooooo!, Slow down, I'll never catch up"
d) I have a few days off work (like this week) and there just aren't enough new levels and I sit here tapping my fingers thinking "Please, someone, anyone - MAKE A LEVEL PURR-LEEEEZE ! :P "

So, if I had an opinion, this week it would be No Limits - Make as Many Levels as You Can, last week it would have been One Per Day max cos I'm on 12hr shifts and I can't play

On the whole it's probably too changeable to call but if I'm honest, I get more frustrated having no new ones than I am with catching up when I'm way behind. So I guess I'm a "no limits" kinda gal

(Memo to all level-makers - I'm on leave from work, (d) above applies)

i think it's up to the poster ultimately. I personally have 29 levels being waited to post, but try to post 1 or 2 every day, or every two days. I just do this because not only do I think posting a whole load at once would possibly disturb some people, but also mainly that I like to have only one or maybe 2 my levels out there so that each level has a better chance to be played to a goood ammount, cause I work really hard on allk of my levels.

HOW MANY LEVELS????

Post by ohbehave » Thu Aug 18, 2005 12:39 pm

well, here goes my two cents worth...i do think when there are 13 or 14 levels a day submitted, it takes away from all the other level makers in there, as it pushes everyone elses down very quickly..i know that when i go in to play levels i look at the top first, for the new ones..and sometimes lately, i have missed some as there are too many..i do agree with poopa scoupa, that if there are a bunch of levels at once, they should be put into a zip folder, that way all the other level makers have a shot at being on the first page for more than a couple hours...and kazzie is right..sometimes you go in there and there are hardly any new levels..thats a good time for people to throw one in there if you have any banked up...thats what i try to do..i personally havent wanted to submit many levels lately as there are too many going in, and i do believe it takes away the playability for others....just my opinion...there are some really wonderific level makers out there right now..i just think that everyone should have some consideration for others before submitting so many at one time...hope i havent offended anyone, as this is just my opinion.. i could never make that many levels in a month!!! :) :)

I'm just a player and IMHO the more the merrier as some levels are too hard for me and I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for a level (or two) that I can do. I have to admit that if there are more than say 6 or 7 levels by one maker then I do feel that a zip file would be a good idea. JMHO remember, I think no-one is right or wrong here.

I feel that there should not be a limit. To me, it is wrong to stifle another person's creativity. Because Midnight Synergy provided the means to make levels and a place to post them, they obviously are encouraging people to post their levels. It is one way to find talented creators as can be seen in the Secret Worlds.

As far as levels being pushed down the page - I don't find it a problem for two reasons. When I go to the levels page, I start at the time and date I last left the board and then move up the list so that I don't miss anything. Secondly, when people post on the level, it does get moved to the top. Because of this, I think it does even out over time.
