Topic Formating Buttons

I sure hope someone can help me.

I posted a reply to a topic which included a spoiler. So, I tried to use the formating buttons to print "spoiler" in Bold and the spoiler text in white.

This is what it looked like:

***SPOILER*** Don't pick-up the coins before positioning the boulders. Remember the coins act as "stops", too.

I don't think it worked very well. Can somebody explain how to use the formating buttons. Obviously, I'm just not getting it.

Hi Dee - Looking at your post to David where you tried to do the colour, bold formatting, I think you probably clicked the colour first, therefore it didn't work because it looked like you had [colour=white][/colour] followed by yout text and then [colour=white][/colour] after your text. I always type the text first, then highlight it and add the colour afterwards.

Therefore it should read:

[colour=white] text [/colour]

The bold part should have worked typed like that. I think you must have checked the "Disable BBCode in this post" button (below the text editing field). If you check that box none of the codes will work.

Dee, you don't have to use the buttons, Just type [ quote ] then [ color=white ] your spoiler, then [ /color ] then[ /quote ] (no spaces in between) and presto, the spoiler is not readable except when highlighted.

Actually, I clicked "B", typed my text, and click "B" again. Then I clicked "font colour", clicked "white", typed my text, and then clicked "font colour" and "white".

I tried your suggestion, but it didn't work for me, so I deleted the post and typed this.

What next?

So that's what BBcode is. I never knew. I edited my original post by removing the check. WoW, it looks just like I wanted it, too.
