Alpahbet Soup - File Under X For X-treme

Post by Jersey »

Well, folks. Here it is!

Don't know how extreme it is, but this is the best I could come up with. Been coming down with something and it finally hit me today, so I'm "hopped" up on cold medicine.

I found it hard to create, but right now I'm not a very reliable judge...hic!

Maybe I just think it's extreme because I'm seeing double! 8)

BTW - No coily's, couldn't handle the little darlin's jumpin' around!

Is that a pink elephant I see?!?

*Bring me anudder bottle o' dat der Buckley's, wills ya hunny?!? Hic!*

While I'm still somewhat conscious, I'd like to thank everyone for their title ideas. :D

It was a difficult decision, but I finally ended up combining Sharon's and Popo's ideas. Great names, Ladies! Thanks! :D
Sharon came up with X-Treme, and Popo suggested X-Files.

*Sniff*

11 hours and 23 minutes, and no one's posted...must either be really, really hard, or *gasp* nobody likes it!

Kidding!

Sorry Jersey, I have been so busy this week that my playing time has been somewhat non existent.

I have just played this level and found it excellent.

Those darned ghosts are a nuisance!

I finally managed to get them all trapped and S&L got home safely.

Thanks

I agree - this is a good level; seems each time you do another, they get a little bit harder, a little more fun! :D

Sorry I didn't get back sooner - I was so involved with Carolyn's "Badlands" level, I couldn't do anything else 'til I figured it out. ("Figured it out?" -- HA! Bear and Carolyn BOTH had to guide my pea brain through it! )

Anyway, thanks for another good level - my Alphabet folder will be finished soon, the way you're going! (Hope you're feeling better :D !)

Hey, Stinky's marooned! Come back here, Loof! Ah, well, he's already gone thru the gate, have to try again. Gee, those ghosts really are a pain, aren't they?

Yeah, I'd say it's pretty extreme!

Dank oo Ladies,

*sniff, honk*

I'b dinking dat id mide hab been a bid harder 'cause I'm a liddle under de influence ob the cough syrup...hack hack *honk*

Thanks, Ladies, for the compliments...hope it's not too challenging. Those ghosts never do the same thing twice, or what they're expected to do. I actually played about 20 times before I could trap the little "darlin's" and carry on without watching my back.

I've begun work on "Q", but so far it's just a blank board...think I'll give that a rest until something comes to me. I've got ideas for the rest of the alphabet, so maybe I'll work on "R" or  ...gotta go

*Jersey tosses a wave as she dashes out the door, tip of her tongue sticking out, already deep in thought*...and runs SMACK into a wall! She probably shouldn't be creating levels under the "influence" of cough medicine - She could be charged with a CUI!

Gee, Jersey, that sounds like a very bad cold. Hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, I know, one more bottle of the syrup and you'll be feeling even better than normal! Well, I'm off to the drug store to buy some Robitussin, maybe that's the key to solving some of these levels!

Neo-Citran, huh? Never heard of that one, wonder if it's even available in the states. Ah, you Canadians have some loopy drugs available OTC. One time I was camping in Canada and pulled something in my back -- woman in the pharmacy suggested a particular pill, and it sure helped my back, but did it make me buzzy, certainly never got that effect from Advil. Then I discovered that, even tho' it was OTC, it had codeine in it! Never get that in the US! (This was quite a few years ago, maybe you can't get that in Canada anymore, either.)

That was X-Tremely cool! At least once I found Loof, you'd think I'd catch on to him hiding quicker than I usaully do. :-)

I'm very honored you decided to use popo's and my ideas. :D Thanks. I can't wait to try it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play any levels for the last two days due to work and my daughter's softball. :( :) I'll get back to you when I try it.

I'm sorry you're under the weather. I hope you get over it very quickly. You sound like you're feeling no pain, though, with the meds you are taking. Just be careful, when you start seeing four of things, you should probably cut back!

Finally got this devilish level! Never was able to trap all the ghosts, so I had to do it by running around like crazy dodging them. I've enjoyed the whole alphabet series, and I think this is one of the best yet!

Great level Jersey! Took me a few tries to figure it out and yes, those ghost were a real problem. I kept wishing that electric tiles would affect them. Thanks for the mention at the opening of your level. I was glad to throw out suggestions. I just wish I had more time to work on some of my own levels! I do have an idea for a couple. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to soon.

Thanks for a great level!

BTW Popo, what does QUATERMASS mean? Am I being obtuse?

Care to fill us in with this one popo? I'm not normally the brightest light on the christmas tree, but this one really has me stumped?!? :?

SharonM - No, thank YOU for the x-treme idea. It was definitely a challenge for me to come up with something that would challenge a few people around here anyway. I doubt very much if I could challange DG, Bear, BigZips or Salin...(judging by the levels they've created or completed as the case may be).

Majic - I've got a bottle of 99 Apples, which I purchased in New Hampshire when we HAD  to stop at the "World's Largest Liquor Store", located beside the I-95...(stopped at the other one accross the road coming back too!). I imagine it tastes like Sour Green Apples 'cause it was way too tart for me! I'd rather suck lemons!!!
At least once I found Loof, you'd think I'd catch on to him hiding quicker than I usaully do.
 Thanks Jen! Glad it stumped you for a few minutes at least.

Devilish, eh? At least Loof is light on his feet, (rumor has it his mom made him take ballroom dancing lessons with his little sister Leaf)
Ah, you Canadians have some loopy drugs available OTC
Dianna - We are Canadians, eh?! With the winters we have around here, we need more than just polar bear skins and igloos to keep us warm, eh?!...
Then I found out loof was there... .... and I sure need his help!

Yes, Carolyn, Loof is a handy little fellow to have around! :D

Those darned ghosts are a nuisance!

 But they are such good dancers! So much more graceful than the coilies!

*PHEW* Did I forget anyone? If I did, my humblest apologies. There were so many that needed responses, but I've only got a few minutes while I'm a work to answer them.

BTW - I am feeling much better, so much so that I came back to work on Monday, only to discover that nearly everyone on my floor was sick over the weekend too. Some people I've spoken to on other floors have been sick for 13 days and counting...glad I only suffered for a few days!

Sorry  it was a British film and a TV series made in the fifties I think, about a scientist called Quatermass. Some strange things happened in the series, which I hardly remember as I was only a few years old at the time, but the film was about a UFO that was found while digging in the Underground in London, apparantly it had been there for thousands of years.

It was just the first thing that sprang to mind to go with Q. Surely I'm not the only one who remembers it  Mind you, our family's always been into spooky things so perhaps I am the only one

Sixties actually, Pauline and it was classic stuff. I'm too young to remember watching it first time round but do remember seeing repeats now and then.

There were at least 3 Quatermass films. 'Quatermass and the Pit' is the film you are thinking of and it is a Cult Classic also. A brilliant suspense film it was too, (very scary and way ahead of its time). One of my favourites. :D :D

I can remember Quatermass in the sixties, but it originated in the early fifties.

Hammer films made a movie of it but, when America took an interest,
they renamed the film, The Creeping Unknown... They also used different actors.

I stand corrected, you are quite correct ladies; it was the fifties.

Guess being a young thing myself, my memory obviously makes me think things are not as far in the past as they actually are.

You're all very knowledgeable, like walking encyclopaedias :P

They did a remake of the series in the seventies with John Mills, but it was a bit rubbish. Or perhaps it just seemed rubbish cos I was older! Like Outer Limits used to frighten me to death when I was little, but when I watched reruns as an adult they made me laugh.

Oh, it's nice being old, so many memories

 Perhaps we could start a 'Down Memory Lane' thread
