I still think Bear isn't around primary because of family problems. I find it very hard to believe that he'd hold such a grudge over a couple of comments. I seem to remember he's had encountered worse verbal exchanges before, but it didn't take long for the heat to settle. And even in the unlikely possibility that there's one or two people here that Bears absolutely can't stand, surely he can just ignore those one or two people but still continue to go on contributing to the rest of the forum.
Discgolfer and I were gonna start the ultimate prank/windup, but we knew it would offend a couple of people, namely majic1 and oldgranma, so we scraped it.
My impression is that ol'gramma is more upset about your comments about "who needs an IQ test" or whatever more than the prank itself.
And the fact is, everytime anyone pulls a prank, you have to accept the risk that you cannot expect everyone to take it well. Especially in here since there's such a wide range of ages, genders, nationalities, and background. You might be able to pull bigger pranks on your buddies and end up with no harm done, but the people on this forum is not all going to be quite like your buddies in many aspects, so inevitably you run the risk that the same prank will not work out so well for some.
If you want to pull a prank next time, either accept that fact that someone might get annoyed and pull it anyway, or scrap it. But just don't say anything unnecessary after the prank to the effect of "ha ha how could you fall for it"; it's not likely going to make anyone feel better, and it might possibly make someone feel really annoyed.
Is it any wonder some of the biggest level posters, and forum contributers have left, or are not around much anymore. Discgolfer is also not around anymore, last post 2 1/2 weeks ago.
I don't believe what you said here. Although I'm sure Discgolfer would find the idea of pulling a little prank on the group to be somewhat interesting, seems to me that in general he's more interested in making unusual levels and to make good-humored conversations and banter with others here. I find it ludicrous that Discgolfer would left the group because he finds some of the people here too uptight or something.
Indeed, seems to me of all 3 people (you, Bearsland and Discgolfer),
you are the one who's far more likely to want to leave the group because of personality mismatches. Are you sure in making those statements you made about Bearsland and Discgolfer's lack of activity, that you didn't project too much of your own feelings into the conclusions you made about those 2?

Oh, and just so no one gets the wrong impression or anything, let me stress now once and for all that my infrequent contributions to the forums here is mainly because of lack of time, not because of any personality problems. Lack of time is an occupation hazard of, well, anyone who's far far from approaching retirement age. In case you haven't guessed, I'm far more closer in age to BigZipZ than to Ol'Gramma.
