Good point, I was gonna say he could have played the Demo Version of RTW, but I remember there isnt one...

EDIT: *SIGH* do you think I have nothing better to do than goto Poland, set up a new bank account, buy the original game with it, and start pretending to be some guy/girl on an internet forum. An for the 2 people who seem to think the above statement is a confession from me, it's not.

I was about to jump to misteroos defence over how he managed to play custom levels without owning RTW, I thought to myself he cuold have played the demo, then as I was typing I remembered there is NO DEMO for RTW, so my defence for this person died on its feet. JESUS I am NOT MISTEROO, can't you say something to tell these people you exist ?

Did I miss something? why not have Midnight Synergy use his admin access on the board, and check the country of origin that this guy signed upto, because I believe some people think it is me playing around when its not. Check the login history and search his domain name, do a WHOIS on it, and it will tell you the country of origin.

Before someone puts it to bed, can someone explain what you mean? I have read every post from this person and fail to see what the joke is.
Misteroo if you are still visiting this forum can you please scan something which proves your from poland or whatever country you said you came from in a previous post or something. A polish driving license, a magazine cover, a newspaper or something similar. People seem to be of the impression that you are in fact me, in the sense that I am playing some kind of extremelly lame joke on people on here, by pretending to be some foreigner with broken english.
I repeat Midnight Synergy can you confim that this person really is someone from another country in Europe, and NOT me. My ISP is ntl.co.uk which you can see in the login history you can use your admin to access to. (Most forums store the ISP domain of the user who signs up in a log) then compare it to this Misteroo guy, and please confirm that this guy really is in another country and is not me, trying to stir trouble up.

I havent even been on this forum for about 2 weeks.

Given various privacy acts I cannot (and will not) post information on any particular user on this board - but let me just say that I do not see any evidence of any misconduct based on the login history, IPs, and order information.

Maybe waiting for the deluxe version is making everyone a little too antsy? We'd better hurry up then.

Back to the game, folks. Move on, nothing to see here. ;)

To Misteroo: you can certainly assure your Mom that all orders at Midnight Synergy are perfectly secure. If security is still a concern, she/you can also order RTW via cheque or Paypal. Either way, I'm glad to hear you liked the game!

Cheers everyone,
P

Sorry to see you leave Misteroo! Hope your mom let's you get the game. You should get her to play a couple of levels, then she'll be hooked like the rest us!

Cheers!

Was he given a hard time maybe? When he gave an explanation, was he believed? He's only a young fellow & if someone really wants to rip off the game, why bother posting here?

If he's genuine, and Pat's said there's nothing to suggest he's not, have we made him feel welcome and (hopefully) if he gets the chance, would he really want to come back to our forum?

Unless someone gets abusive, uses bad language or just gets unnessesarily confrontational let's really consider how we treat others that come on board OK guys...

Robbie :D

This is were the backlash seemed to start, this is the point which I got confused. Do you know something we don't?
He's only a young fellow & if someone really wants to rip off the game, why bother posting here?
Good point, I did a simple google search which brought back some shocking results, people are trading full versions of the Midnight Synergy games, on forums, along with hundreds of other games. Anyone in there right mind wouldn't steal the game then come take part on the official forum :) it would be like stealing from your local store and then applying for a job at the store the next day. Your gonna get caught!

Have to say I quite liked the misteroo guy, and I don't think we have seen the last of him.

I don't what can be done but it would be good to pass that info on to Pat... keep 'em honest (and ensure Pat & his family don't starve!) - not forgetting a long & glorious future for Wonderland

Not so long ago, I purchased a shareware game, that had the "activation" code sent to me by email. At the header of the email was a piece of text which really got me thinking. The text said:

Order #893

The company I bought the game from, had only been formed last December, and their first game was only released in February of this year. It was retailing for £9.99.

At first I thought, wow that's alot of money x alot of orders, it worked out at about £9000. Then I thought to myself, wow this guy must be making a lot of money. After viewing the credits for this game, thoughts of a rich author, soon went away. Although the team responsible was only 4 people, it got me thinking, hang onnnnnnnn £9000 by 4 people works out at about £2250 each, and thats before you take off the esellers fee, and income tax.

Suddenly £9000 for this game was not very much at all, for a game that had probably taken this team of people several months to complete.

Most small shareware companies are having a rough time, the market is oversaturated, piracy is huge, and every customer is essential.

Support independent software developers. They have bills to pay too!

I don't blame him, and in fact you should thank him that he hasn't let out a stream of nasties words towards the board.

How do you think you'd feel if you were barred from getting/playing a game you wanted so much, you were just going to say farewell to the people here and all of a sudden everyone thinks you're a "joke"?!?!?

I do hope that Midnight Synergy is right in saying that everyone's antsy only from waiting for the Deluxe version of Wonderland...

I was dissapointed because I was trying to prove to people that I was not Misteroo trying to play a joke on people. He never denied he was me, which didn't strengthen the case.

I dont think I am to blame on this one, in fact I know I'm not.

Read the top of the thread.. I don't quite understand it myself. It was a couple of people who started making comments that were quite odd, like saying "THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! How STUPID.
And how OBVIOUS!"

I do not know what that was referring to ?
