I think that the technique is the same as dlcs's idea in impossible screenshots.
You hit the Print Screen just before Qookie died, yeah?

When you try to step onto empty space, you don't die... it just won't let you move. So it can't just be a screenshot immediately before you die.

That probably is what's happening then... although it could also be some trickery to do with the rainbow coin that has just been collected.

I don't think that Kaboom! has quite reached the square next to Stinky... you took the screenshot just before it finished moving into the square.

Doesn't quite work, chrise, the stinky would blow up a bit earlier than the shown state.
