Good question! It's either some silly thing that you can never get, or something that you somehow get later. I personally have no idea, I'm not too far into the game. :)

You obviously can't afford it, but knowing that it's there is important in the future (I'm intentionally being vague).

I wonder what would happen if you kept flonging back in time so many times that you enventually has that much coin. Think Patrick accounted for the ultra-dedicated??

You don't get any more coins by replaying. You only get the ones you didn't get the first time. It tells you if you gained any or not when you finish it again. For instance if you got all the coins the first time but not all the gems it will say 3 out of 3 coins (no gain) 8 out of 8 gems (3 gained). So you're not going to amass millions by replaying till your finger ends are raw.

Xyzzy

X, Y & Z as most of you know are coordinate indicators. So this may be very interesting if he ever becomes purchasable. Also, when I was looking at some of the older custom levels, there was one with that name. Maybe it's a clue, maybe not.

(EDIT)
I got to thinking that the cost of the xyzzy is definately in the form of catesian coordinates. Although, for the life of me, I do not know what bearing that may have on the game. 3,700,042 is the number. Anybody have any ideas?

You'll find out what relevance it has near the end of the game.

XYZZY is also found in the original Colossal Cave Adventure.
