Concept Idea - "Where would you live in Wonderland?&

Post by Blast!10 »

In this topic, people of the forum were asked where they would want to live in Wonderland. So far, 11 people have said their opinions, me included.

I decided to make a quick map of Wonderland in RTW, then fill in the houses according to the people's opinions. This level is very small and dense, but it's just an example of my concept. If I'm ever gonna start this again as a big project, I'm going to do so using the WA Editor, for sure.

My question is: Would you like this to grow into a big project?
A. Yes, I support this idea and want it to grow
B. Yes, and make it a community project also
C. No, I don't support this idea

EDIT: I think I should have put this into the Custom Adventures board. MS, can you please move this topic there if needed?

That would be pretty hard, because...
  • Even a 99-width level can't have these areas in proper sizes.
  • In cases of multiple levels, it would be annoying to go from level to level because it would totally ruin the atmosphere.

Is it possible to make the level bigger than 99 x 99 using a hex editing technique?

Yeah, but it is really difficult. Once you make the level size bigger in Hex, you must add tiles to it in Hex, or else the part of the level that was added on would have null tiles and the game would MAV.

Anyways, good luck on making that level! :D

NO WAI

I am going to try making an RTW version, no matter what. When it comes to these issues, compatibility is a thousand times more important than atmosphere (which isn't really an important part of Wonderland anyway -- Wonderland isn't Knytt, you know).

Yeah, I don't think you need WA to get the WA editor.

:D Thanks! Now I start to understand a little bit what they are talking about. You mean: Although we have to pay for the WA-game, we can download the editor free? I didn't know that. If so, where can I download it?

The editor is found in the WA Editor General Discussion forum. The topic that has it is called, "WHERE IS THE EDITOR?". Go in there and you should find it. The editor has a player with it that you can use to play Custom Levels for WA. It's totally free.

The game might be a little hard to understand with all the magic and stuff since you haven't played WA but you'll figure it out. :D

EDIT: Oops. He beat me to it.

:D Thank you all! I downloaded it and it works. Indeed there are some things about WA that I don't know, but I'm not quite unfamiliar with it, since I played the WA-demo, and also MOFI, at least about halfway.

If it was B, and a community project, maybe we could make our own house designs.
And surrounding styles
And pick pets
And... everyone, just choose B!!
:D :D :D
