UPDATE 2/24/11: Magic Mirror can now be converted automatically using WA - Editor Tools . Use the Magic Mirror WOP packaged with that program instead of the one in this post, since there is a slight difference between the two.

Hey all,

Figured out the Magic Mirror and glyphs thingy. The WOP for the MagicMirror can be used only in a MOFI player. The .wlv file you use it in also needs to be converted, like my Retro WOPs, in a hex editor. I have also attached a jpeg to show you what to do, but it's pretty much the same procedure as the other WOPs. It will appear as a gate in the editor, but will appear normal in MOFI, once it's been converted.

How to use it all:

The Mirror is pretty big, 7X by 3Y, centered where you place the object. In the demo, I placed it inside an ice wall which seemed to work pretty well. The mirror effect is a little translucent, so whatever surface is underneath will show through a little bit. The Mirror can be scaled, rotated, and adjusted in all axes.

The glyphs are just regular objects and don't need to be converted. I included these as WOPs since you can't set the correct activation code in the editor with the custom item object. The function is the same for each object, the destination is controlled by which texture number you have it set to. MOFI only handles the glyph textures (numbers 16 through 20), anything else outside that range has no effect. Of course you can always use a custom icons texture to put whatever design on it you want to use.

The level and x,y coordinates you warp to are set by the program and can't be changed, much like the shards. Here's where each glyph sends you:

Fire: Level 57 x=12,y=29
Flowing: Level 56 x=47,y=54
Friend: Level 61 x=4,y=24
Ice: Level 66 x=28,y=24
Home: Same location as fire glyph, but does the rainbow effect instead.

There's a demo you can play if you like. It needs to be played in MOFI, but there's no custom textures you need to use.

I also attached an Ice Flower WOP. It was unclear to me if this is needed or had been figured out already, but here it is none the less.

My bad, forgot I used the waterfallgreen.bmp texture, now attached

Take a look at my Retro WOPs post and download the zipped file, inside is an Adobe Reader document explaining how to convert a .wlv file in a HEX editor to play it in MOFI.

Hopefully, I'll have a converter program done in the not-too-distant future.

Read it more carefully please. I am only unsure about why Zbots and UFOs cause a MAV when walled in. Everything else converts with no trouble. Read the Adobe .pdf file and try it out.
