Level Help

Post by kdewolf » Sat Oct 26, 2013 2:19 am

Is there a place where I can get level help and hints? Struggling on Planet of the z-bots level, "Mad Dash" and need some tips. I was able to complete it but not get the coins and gems.

You're in luck!... Believe it or not, I checked the forum just now RIGHT after I won the level "Mad Dash."

SPOILER ALERT

The trick is the get two chompers from the first group close enough so that when one is killed by a lurker, the other one will have to go around. Then the other one will get killed by another lurker, giving you access to the red button. Once all the chompers from the first group are killed, step on the red button surrounded by the lurkers. That way, the second group of chompers will have to go through the lurkers to get to you, and they'll all die if you time things well. With that trick, you can lure the last chomper into any lurker you want. With just one, it'll be easy. Then you can get the coins, gems, and star! :D

P.S. For future reference, you should post on the level solutions subforum for things like this.

P.P.S. If my solution was too confusing and you have no idea what I was talking about, let me know and I'll try to show you a screenshot.

EDIT: Actually, I just realized that there's a certain spot you can step on (in the lower left corner of one of the lurkers) that would get the chomper to automatically take the route you want it to.

Believe it or not, it's also possible to use the other red button, the one that's right there in the open... but you have to be really, really good at action levels if you play it this way.

I actually did it this way during the beta testing and complained that this level was extremely hard. I tried the "real" solution (the one that Wonderland King describes) and got the level in a few minutes...
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.
