New Level -- Double Bind II

Post by Shadow »

"What, another new level the very next day? And on the Shadow account, too, instead of the Muzozavr one?"

Well, I discovered an alternate solution to Double Bind today, which is very pretty and deserves its own level... but the original one needed to be updated as well. The intended solution to Double Bind is maybe a little quirky, but within the bounds of what I wouldn't consider a glitch. This alternate solution does require a glitch, so off to the "Shadow" realm it goes. (On the other hand, it's way easier to execute. Yay!)

Despite the layout being almost identical to the original (now updated) Double Bind, the solution is COMPLETELY different. The original solution will not work in this version, and after I updated the original level, the inverse is also true as well. Two very similar layouts, two extremely distinct solutions. 8)

Good luck!

Hey, again, Muz; sorry to blow your cover

Somehow I managed to solve the more glitchyish less-obvious one first. :? Guess that obsessively building levels out of jank glitches paid off. :P

Absolutely horrible. And I mean that in a good way. Thank you for this absolutely insane puzzle. :o

My video solution~ Thanks to you and the object between you and a light source for the fun.
Your only little stinker that's absolutely NOT a z-bot by this name,

Also, if you want to see my level list, here it is! :D

I made this one too, thanks, and I am not aware of any alternate solution(s).

Huh... which of the two solutions were you able to use in both? I thought I locked it down to make only one of the two solutions exclusive for each level... guess not. Or is there a third option available in both?

The original level should've needed a trick highlighting the precise nature of what tile-based movement really means. This one should've needed something else, using the teleporters more. So, how did you... :?:

Sorry, I had the original version - once I re-downloaded, this solution no longer worked and I still have no clue how to solve it.

Aaaaaah, OK, OK, so you solved this one, but not the "edited original", understood.

The original intended solution isn't as multi-step as this one, it's just a little absurd, that's all. It shouldn't be possible by normal logic, but the game allows it to happen, and it's not even really a glitch as such.

But the Shadow version is a cool solution, too.

Yes, the shadow version is cool indeed, I enjoyed it.
I gave up and looked at the video solution for the "edited original"... and couldn't reproduce it with the exact timing even while knowing what I should do.

Alright, I will be looking forward for your next level...

I'll be the first to admit that the timing for the original intended solution is pretty nasty, and I usually need a few tries to get it. The idea is delightfully absurd, which is why I made it, but I wouldn't want to see it in a bigger level where retrying takes longer.

The Shadow version is MUCH easier to execute. :D
