Help-How to Transfer game to laptop

When I purchased the 3 games, I downloaded them on to a PC. So, no disk. Now, I want to put these games on my laptop, so I can take them with me and play anywhere. (Great idea, huh?)

Can anyone explain how to do this. The PC uses XP, the laptop ME.

I am not a computer wizard, so please keep it simple.

Hi Dee,

there are several ways to do it. I can try to explain how I did it with Return to Wonderland Deluxe (RTWD).

First you should find a way to transfer files from your PC to your laptop.
You can link them with a network-cable.
You can store the data from your PC on a USB-stick.
You can burn the data from your PC on CD.

No matter which way you choose you have to ways to copy the game:
1. You can copy the original download file (if you haven't deleted it yet) rtwdeluxesetup.exe so you can install the game on your laptop again [for Wonderland Secret Worlds the file is named secretworldsinstall.exe, for the first Wonderland game it's wonderfull.exe.]
2. You can copy the whole game, i.e. the complete folder Return To Wonderland Deluxe from your PC to your laptop. RTWD doesn't create any other system-files, so if you copy the game folder with it's sub-folders to your laptop you can immediately start playing.

I did the same thing with RTW. If burned to a disk some video
and audio files may become damaged Thats if you zip of course.
I did the same thing But I had to recopy the data files and they
are giant in size so it takes a while.

Thank you Lutz and Willwonka4442.

I did a search of the PC for the 3 .exe files, but did not find them. When I downloaded the 3 different programs, I always clicked "run" not "save". Does this explain why the files are missing?

Also, the laptop has a 3.5 drive, 5.25 drive, and a CD-R drive. The PC has a 3.5, a CD-RW, and a DVD drive. They systems are not networked.

Is it possible to copy the programs to 3.5 or CD-R and and then copy them from the disk to the laptop? Or maybe, use the Backup/Restore command?

What I should have done, was got them on disk to begin with!

Where did you buy the games from?
Most places will send you new downloads if you have proof of purchase.
(Email confirmation, purchase numbers, unlock codes... etc)

If you get new downloads click SAVE.

Then install.
Then burn the installation files to a CD.

I did print out my receipt for RTWD. It has an email address and telephone number and my order number.

I will try them. See if they can help.

Thought I would update this thread , which I started.

I want to thank everyone who offered advise.

I contacted the sources of my programs (RTWD is from Midnight Synergy, but WL and WSW are not.) Everyone was very helpful. For a nominal fee they are sending CD's of the games, which I will guard with my life.

I just can't go a day without playing one of these games and now I will be able to load them on my laptop and take them with me.

My granddaughter has tried to play the game on the PC, but the mouse is too large for her hand, so her clicking is slow. We all know you must sometimes be fast to avoid the coilies, or chompers!! She plays other games on my laptop (it has a touchpad), so I am looking forward to sharing the fun with her.

Sorry, folks:

I wasn't being very clear. We can not play any Wonderland games with mouse.

What I should have written was:

She can't navigate the pc very fast with the mouse. So she has been playing on my laptop for a couple of years now. She plays several other programs and games I purchased just for her.

I loaded the games on my pc when she had trouble holding the mouse and clicking the buttons. Her small hand couldn't grasp the mouse, and her finger didn't couldn't click very fast. The touch pad on the laptop worked out just great.
