New Level- Ice Trade: 26

Post by Deetster » Sun May 21, 2006 4:47 am

The gang has made it to the Foggy Mountains!!!

A strange level here now. No objects to help except ice blocks. Not too hard actually, just not screwing up what you are doing is key.

ALSO HERE IS A SPECIAL REQUEST TO THOSE WHO ARE UP TO IT
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At this point my very lovely crew of Deets Journey 2 fans who have been commenting so often have been much help indeed! All your comments come together to make such complex levels, because without your compliments/suggestions I would never have the ideas i have, or the will to keep on going that I do

So here is my questionnaire to those of you who have played almost all levels

Answer these questions here:
~~~~
Which level did you find the hardest?
Which level has been your favorite?
Which level did you dislike the most?
What would you like to see less/more of in the future?
~~~~

If you want to be exact you can add why to each of these answers. I am currently finished with level 50 of the series, so this will help to gather what will be awaiting you after that milestone. Perhaps I will ask this again in the post for level 51!

At any rate if you have no answer to one or more, no need to answer, just if you are up to it answer what you want!

Thanks to those with the time to help. This is for my enjoyment, to know what you enjoy, so that we can both enjoy my level making!!

Great level! Excellent plan ahead and team work level! This one required some thought to get things done so I could collect my gold star!

As far as your questions go, I like all of your levels because you provide so much variety and adventure! I really can't pick a favorite because they are all great. Having said that, it should be obvious that I haven't disliked any of them either! I think level 11, The Wondertown Streams, was the hardest for me to figure out! I don't have any suggestions for future levels but I am sure I will continue to enjoy your creations!

:D :D :D Hey Deets. I really like your style of level making, If I had to pick a favourite I would have to pick Wonderland Streams It was just the right amount of challenge and also the roght size, All your levels are great, I can't remember them all but that one sticks out in my mind. :D

This one had some good misdirection in it, With good team work the gang made the exit and collected a new gold star. Thanks. :D :D :D

Nice team work level. Enjoyed it a lot (as I do with all your levels) :D
When two stinkers already were out I noticed there were bonus coins :shock: So Peegue had to do some extra work :P

Awesome teamwork required in this puzzle & much planning ahead to make sure each of the gang were in their proper position. Thoroughly enjoyable, as usual, & great fun to play :lol: :lol: :lol:

I posted my reply to your questions under #25 instead of this level. Sorry, Deets. Guess I was so excited to finish #25 that I got confused :roll: :roll: :roll:

Phew! This one needed lots of concentration to get through. :stinkyeek:
I knew what I had to do, but slipped up many times in the placement of one of the buddies. Finally got my gold star.

In answer to your questions. I agree with Donna - the variety is what makes them interesting. I've enjoyed playing all your levels.

The ones I particularly liked were:
#13 - Two Neighbourhoods
#16 - Wondertown Racing
#17 - Sticky Situations
#18 - Friend in the Plains.
All of these I could solve by myself, and all were great fun to play.

#11 - Wondertown Streams was one which I couldn't solve so had to have help.
#24 is my problem at the moment - I just can't do it.

#21 - Watery Grave is probably my least favourite because it's big, it plays a bit slowly and I had to restart many times, so I got a bit annoyed with it.

Having said all that, I think you are an ace puzzle maker and have given us hours of fun. Thanks so much Deetster! :D 8) :D

I was pretty quick to get the rainbow coins. Realized I needed at least one ice cube for another task, and then made my way to a gold star.

Thank you for this level!

As to your questions:

1. Hardest: For me, it was Wondertown Racing. Obviously, because it was a race against the clock, but more than that, you had to figure out the right way to do things, too.

2. Favorite: Near the Cottages, and A Tale of Two Neighborhoods. This was hard to choose, but I liked these because of the puzzles involved. Near the Cottages, especially, your work was not quite done when you got the rainbow coins, or the bonus coins, you still had to think about the exit.

3. Least Favorite: Not My Watery Grave. Now, I didn't dislike this one, I actually loved the scenery in this one. As Liz said, with such long "boat" rides, if you made a wrong move, you had a lot of ground to cover, or re-cover.

4. Some things I like the most: When the solution is not the obvious thing, or in other words, mis-directions. Another thing I really like, is when you really have to work for the bonus coins.

Not really any thing I would like to see less of. Every level has been so unique, which makes them so enjoyable. I love the variety of puzzles you have given us.

As Liz said, you are a great level maker, and I look forward to many more!

Thanks!
Lisa

No hints needed with this one, thank heavens! Everyone got out safely and with the gold.

If you're looking for input on your levels all I can say is that I rarely play ones that are too large and if I have to constantly use the shift and arrow keys to see what shadows are doing I tend to get annoyed (Alt X to the rescue). I also don't like obvious kids levels posted on the puzzle/action site (this doesn't apply to you).

As for your stuff, I don't specifically remember any that I didn't like so keep up the good work and thanks!

This was a fun, relaxing level (not too much brain drain for a change)
To answer your survey; here's my 2 cents worth:

Which level did you find the hardest? Probably Wondertown streams; very clever and took a lot of thinking.

Which level has been your favorite? So many; can't pick a fave; I've enjoyed most of them

Which level did you dislike the most? Probably the Watery Grave one; it was relaxing, but a bit frustrating and a bit large for my liking. I actually need to go back and finish it sometime.

What would you like to see less/more of in the future? I love your style; I don't think you've used too many of the shadow guys, or red enemies. Those levels I tend to steer away from. I just don't like them and would rather do more creative levels. I don't like levels with a lot of UFO's either.

Thanks for all the great designing; you are a favorite of mine.
