Ok I've got another one...

Because Daisy Mae apparently 'sucked' so the parrot couldn't be bothered to learn anything she said because he thought Daisy was French.

Sorry, no again. But, one of your previous guesses, could also be a hint! :D

You said that the parrot would repeat "words" and "phrases," but not "sentences." Is this why?
Did she even buy the parrot?

P.S. Muzo, I didn't kick myself. I only saw I was on the wrong track.

But, but, the shop assistant assured, ASSURED you that the parrot would repeat anything that you said. :?

Actually, here's what I said: "The shop assistant assured her that the parrot would learn and repeat any word or phrase it heard. "

But, Mqdar, when you said this: "You said that the parrot would repeat "words" and "phrases," but not "sentences." Is this why?
Did she even buy the parrot?"
Maybe you were thinking it was one of Muzozavr's riddles? You were thinking way too hard. :D :D :D

Next one:

Here's some maths

Make 21 out of 1, 5, 6 and 7.
You may use every number only once and you may only add, substract, multiply or divide.

I was thinking:

6 * 7 * .5 * 1

But I'll keep thinking. :D

When I type first a . and then a 5 on my calculator or computer, it doesn't say: "Error, you should type a number before the . "

But I'll keep thinking. 8)

Guess this is correct, but there's a solution using all 4 numbers...

Was I? :?: I don't think so. My first guess came from another riddle, which used that same sort of idea. Once again, I was on the wrong track. What a bad assistant and what a horrible trick for Daisy!

Lutz, let's see:
Do the numbers have to be themselves, or can you join them together to make bigger numbers?
I have no idea. :? :blank: ummmmm.......
Can't think of anything.

Dumb thinking: use (7+5)/6 to make 2, then join that 2 with the 1.
Can't think of a "real" solution... even joining the numbers.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

Well, I drew complete blank, so I decided to google to satisfy my curiousity at the cost of missing a possible turn.

First of all, you do not need to join numbers, and I don't think that joining numbers can actually help in any way.
Second of all, there are no tricks, and it is a fair math puzzle, but the solution follows a fairly counterintuitive approach.

I can make those numbers total to: 22, 17 and 18, but so far...that's the closest I can get.

I haven't given up yet. :D

Sorry to burst some of your bubbles, but you're on a COMPLETE wrong track if you try to "tweak" 22 to 21. The solution is very different, so as they say "Not gonna happen".

I looked up the answer, and found it. The person who said the answer said that they had a master's degree in maths, but I don't know.

I didn't look at the spoiler yet, maybe I do tomorrow :?

Although this is not a Y/N puzzle, I have some questions:

Is it a normal formula: ............ =21 ?
Are there only 4 seperate numbers on the dots: 1,5,6 and 7 ?
Is there beside those 4 numbers nothing but these marks: +,-,*,/,( and/or ) ?

It's a normal formula.
It's four separate numbers (each number used exactly once).
+, -, *, /, ( and/or ) are the only signs used.
And nothing like 2³ or square roots or something like this.

Thanks Lutz :D

Will you please tell me what other signs are needed if you may only
Lutz wrote:add, substract, multiply or divide
Of course I can use then also the () but more signs?????

EDIT:
I see you edited your post so there's no other signs.

Very difficult!!!

Whatever I try, I always miss something with a factor 10! Just like my first guess: 0.5 instead of 5. The 1 should be 10 or 0.1 or such. Is that the trick? Or am I thinking completely wrong? :?

I looked at the spoiler without highlighting it. Maybe I saw a very little bit thanks to the difference between fafafa and ffffff. 8) Anyhow I didn't read the exact formula but maybe thanks to that vague little bit I know it. So I didn't figure out completely on my own and I don't know what happened without the spoiler. Never mind, I don't know a riddle at the moment.

Hint: (only what signs needed)
You only need to / and - and then / once more. 8)
