You can't cater to the whole world of gamers by using one genre and completely eliminating another.
I absolutely
love 2D Platformers, and seeing a Wonderland game in HD in said style would be my idea of a perfect 2D puzzle. Some people don't like platformers, and I'm okay with that, as long as it doesn't degenerate into just complaints without playing the game beforehand.
Also 2.5D is the best way to go as well - It has width, depth, and length, but still plays like the platformers of old (1980 - 1999).

Wonderland games are 2D because they take place on a single surface. WA is also 2D.
Even games like Doom are only 3D because they have lifts and other stuff that involves height. They're kinda underused, though, so for a lot of these games the "2.5D" term is justified -- it's 2D, except for specific moments.
Games that TRULY use the third dimension A LOT are usually games where you control a spaceship, a hovercraft, or an airplane or something else that flies. Or if you're in zero gravity. Then you have six degrees of freedom.
Or Portal. Because in that game, portals can be indeed placed on walls and ceilings and floors, therefore all three dimensions are used.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

You do have a point, QLoof234, and now that I see it, a platform game would be a step foward, in a whole different sense.

I'm new to the forums that's why you probably havent seen me around...
Anyway, I like the idea for return to return to wonderland
1.I think it should have a 2d editor(because it's easier)
2.gameplay should be just like wonderland secret worlds. but with updated graphics!
3.all the elements from Return to wonderland platinum!
but with multi floor levels.
4.It does not play with the mouse(it's alot harder with the mouse especially if your mouse isnt very good like mine).
5.being able to make your own elements somehow like with an ingame code window to make elements(for advanced users)
6.download levels from the community with an ingame custom level list from the internet!
that's all i can think of for now!
i hope you like my idea!
by the way what do you think of this patrick?

I'm not patrick, but I agree with some of this.
This is what I think.
You should have these things added:
Everything that was going to be in there anyway.
A way to connect to the forum itself, where downloaded levels would be automatically placed into the game.
A retro mode where you can play using RTW's graphics.
An in-game editor just like in RTW.
And The ability to play WA custom levels.
Tell me what you think!

We already have that with cbloopy's wops and hacked editor and stuff.
Kabooms Rock wrote:and to be able to push boxs.
That wouldn't exactly be possible. The water pits in the WA series vary in depth, and the boxes may not fit and fill it in right.

Wonderland Adventures 3 - PLEEEASE make this one! I am waiting for it! I even want to know what the indigo magic does!
RTRTW - the ideas for this game are okay. I prefer WA 3 better
2d Wonderland - It's not really puzzling with platformers for me. But It can take the shortest time to produce since its 2D.
But still, please make WA3 so that I can make my hub game that includes the new elements!

I mean easer to use hub abilitys. I also use the hacked editor but making hubs could be simpler

I've been thinking about the new elements coming for RTRTW. Think of all the new puzzles that could be made!
I CAN('T) WAIT.

WA3 = WANT. WA: MOFI's ENDING WOULD BE MEANINGLESS WITHOUT IT.
RTRTW = WANT.
2D + Meh, ok. Sounds like fun.

Really, this could be interesting on properly designed levels. Since the players are less dumb than the monsters, it would be very hard to kill any of them actually.

How about making it a MMO

Good Idea

I agree, a 2D (or a 2½D) Wonderland game would be fun,
it could either be a side-scrolling platformer or it
could be an overhead view that runs North,South, East,West,...,
like in
FlatLand /.

If four people played at once as the entire gang, then wouldn't it get confusing? The last thing anyone would want is for someone to start to push a powder keg towards a teleporter...
...and someone else coming out of it. Everyone restarts.
As for an MMO, maybe there could be a hub with multiple areas where people can chat and either race to see who can finish a level first, or... dare I say... work together

Umm... What's a MMO?
Or IMO, for that matter.
Remember to look at the dates that every post is made. It's been many years, and I, and others, may not be the same people we were when we made them. This is a symbol of where we came from, and should be remembered as that.

Actually, gameboy said cooperate after dare I say, for reasons strictly between him and whoever told him cooperation in Wonderland was shocking.
Arena levels where Stinkers could fight would be fun though. Maybe the longer you last the bigger your reward?
For example,
1st Place-25 Coins and 1000 points.
2nd Place-10 coins and 500 points
3rd Place-100 points.
If there are only 3 people you get a free 100 points for trying, but 4 or more is where it gets tricky to earn stuff.
