If this is an 'experiment'...

Post by ^_^ » Fri Nov 05, 2010 7:58 pm

Ms said this forum is an experiment, so after the 'experiment' is over, will the old off-topic be opened again and this off-topic is going into a fire?
And mod powers will be allowed only in old off-topic?

The old off-topic isn't coming back. MS wanted a fresh start.

Then how can this be an 'experiment'?

Because MS wants to see how the new moderator system works out. If it doesn't work out, then off-topic gets the boot. :)

Patrick can decide any time to change things on the forum, experiment or not. So actually the word experiment doesn't mean that much. And no one can look into the future, not even Patrick. 8)

The "experiment" is just to see how Moderation works out. If it works, then this section will be staying and old topics will get moved back. If it doesn't work, the entire Off-Topic section (that is, this one and the locked one) is getting removed.

And I'll say it again. :)

The Off-Topic, as it had become, was unsustainable, and the type of dialogue on it was no longer welcome.

If moderation does work out, then yes, we can move forward, otherwise, the entire off-topic will be axed and it will become a (much quieter) Wonderland only forum.

A lot of people are complaining about this experiment, and I have to agree with some of them. But I personally think that the reason there is so much spam and other problems is simply because of how many young users there are.

I have heard that the human brain does not fully mature until somewhere around the age of 25.

I'm only 14, so that means I have a long ways to go, but I try my best to act as mature as possible, and I know that several other members feel the same way.

Humans are never too old to learn, no matter if they are 25, 50, 75, or with one foot in the grave.

About the rest, I agree with you.
