Game development is a long process. It's going to be a very, very long time before I start thinking WA3 is dead.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

Yes, it is, but surely he would've shown another sign of at least a little progress within the span of a year.

Hey Muz, could you please post the midi.s fro your songs? Deeman would like to remix them.
Most of them: yes, I could, but you'll have to wait a little, sorry.

There's only one big problem: "Robot Language". It's not a MIDI and it wasn't one from the start. Trying to construct a MIDI for that thing would be a senseless nightmare. I could send the basic sound I created and used and then he can do something with it.
Thanks.

OpenMPT's MIDI conversion really sucks -- it doesn't keep stereo panning, it doesn't keep volume differences between instruments, it doesn't keep ANYTHING other than the notes/instruments. And the two songs I did with those samples from the start... I used them differently than the MIDI instruments themselves do. (So differently, that in case of the new song "Lost in Space" I had to downright REPLACE two instruments to have a version that doesn't blow out speakers with awfulness. The two guitars were "Synth Bass 1" and "Saw Wave" but without the stereo panning it sounded terribad.)

So, here are 5 MIDIs in a ZIP archive -- five because I have one new song, which I will post in the actual animation topic in its proper MP3.
THESE MIDIS ARE NOT FOR LISTENING PURPOSES AND UNLESS YOU HOOK THEM UP TO A SOUNDFONT THEY SOUND AWFUL. AND IN CASE OF "LOST IN SPACE" TWO INSTRUMENTS ARE REPLACED DUE TO UNBELIEVABLE AWFULNESS. THESE MIDIS ARE ONLY FOR REMIXING PURPOSES. (And the first step is to replace all instruments with something that isn't horribly awful)

You guys have been very patient... thank you.

I still fully plan to complete WA3, but it's been a tough road. Things were moving pretty well last year, and I have the majority of the programming and art assets done (including the new soundtrack), then some things came up and the game was put on hold. Since then, I just haven't had time for it lately (personal choices, in part), and it's really quite difficult to work yourself back into a project that was left hanging for so long.

At this point, I really can't make a prediction about a possible release date. I am hoping for certain things to get done soon - but I know better than to promise anything.

So, it's not dead... just waiting.

Ok. Thanks for letting us know.

So you said programming and done right? Does that mean you're in the adventure designing stage?

Not quite... there are some things left, and the editor needs to be updated with the new bits & pieces.

Just the fact that WA3 isn't dead makes me happy!

Don't worry Patrick, take your time. I'll wait as long as it takes. :)

Oooooh! Soundtracks of Wonderland were always nice, INCLUDING WONDERFALLS, that place was so awesome. It's good to hear that lots of programming is done, too.

The best part of WA3, it's really big and has its own editor!

Speaking of editor, is it free?

I'm hoping that you do get back into WA3 soon - once you finish the last of the art and programming, things should really start moving along.

There are no actual adventures in the game yet. So far Midnight Synergy has been adding the new stuff that's going to appear (new objects, music, etc). I'm guessing no demo until like December at the latest (hopefully).

Speaking of adventures, I have my fingers crossed that this game will finally enter adventure designing stage by the end of August. It's a long shot, but judging from MS's recent posts, it sounds like WA3 is pretty close to that point.

And why exactly would a demo be necessary? You probably already know you want it, MS has said that there will probably be a hub maker in the editor, and even if there isn't, if there isn't a demo, Patrick won't give the game to other sights, so you could make hubs in the full version.

Belive me, MS, I know how hard it is to pick projects back up. I have a 7GB folder full of unfinished everything.
Would a sneak peak of the soundtrack be possible since it's done? The WA music is pretty cool.
[although I liked the RTW one more. Purple Motion forever <3]

MS, would it be possible to start the weekly update thing again? It doesn't have to be pictures, it could just be a text report on your progress just so you can make sure you're making progress.

There was progress? MS just told us it's not dead, but sort of on hold. However, it sounds like he's close to the adventure designing stage.

Also, I don't think he's just going to pull adventure designers right out of the water based on recommendations. I think he's going to have a "sample adventure" thing like he did to find designers for MOFI.
