So if i install Windows XP right now, would my computer shut down? Would there be some problems?

Yes - downgrading or upgrading your operating system (except for specific Vista -> 7 packages) will shut down your computer and wipe your hard drive.

If you have Windows 7 Ultimate, there's a Virtual Windows XP mode or something. Check Microsoft's site, it has more info then I do.

No, it is possible. You just need to partition your hard drive correctly. I had OS X 10.5 and Vista on my old computer at the same time.

I have both XP and 95 on my old computer downstairs.

Granted, the XP is buggy to the extreme, but still.

Watch out though, because Virtual XP mode won't run on many Intel Processors. That's the reason I got XP and not 7 on my laptop.
